Combined items
Creating a new combined article
Create one sales article from multiple products and services with its own document defaults.
Updated on August 27, 2026
A combined article bundles several products and services into one reusable sales article. You define its own name, standard price, and document settings and decide which lines make up the combination. You need access to the active administration and an active Billnado licence.
Step 1: General Information
| Field or setting | Meaning and rules |
|---|---|
| Name | The recognisable name Billnado uses in lists, article selections, and documents. |
| Sku | The internal code for the combination. An SKU cannot contain spaces. |
| Category | The article category used to group and find combined articles. |
| Description | Detailed information about the combination in formatted text. |
| Standard selling price | The selling price Billnado proposes when you add the combination to a document. The price cannot be negative. Billnado does not calculate it automatically from the included lines. |
| Standard unit | The usual sales unit for the whole combination, such as package or set. |
| Import 'description' in documents | Copies the combined article's description when you use it on a document. |
| Hide lines on invoice | Shows the combination as the main invoice line without printing the individual included lines. |
Step 2: Items
A combined article contains at least one line. For each line, select Product or Service and choose an existing article. You can also use a free-form name when the required line does not exist as a separate article.
| Information or action | Meaning and rules |
|---|---|
| Items | The product or service included in the combination. The selected name and SKU are copied to the line. |
| Quantity | The number of units of this line within one combined article. The value cannot be negative and supports up to four decimal places. |
| Move up / Move down | Changes the order in which the included lines appear. |
| Delete | Removes the line from the combination. The only remaining line cannot be removed. |
| Add article | Adds a new line and opens it immediately for completion. |
Creating the combined article
Select Add when both steps are complete. Billnado creates an active combined article and then opens the new record. The combination is subsequently available in the relevant article selections on documents.
Frequently asked questions
Is the standard selling price calculated from the included articles?
No. Enter the selling price for the entire combination yourself. This lets you use a package price that differs from the sum of the individual lines.
Can I include a combined article in another combined article?
No. A combined article's lines only allow Product or Service.
Can I hide the individual lines on an invoice?
Yes. Enable Hide lines on invoice. The setting applies to the combined article; the combination's main line remains the sales article on the document.
