Create a payment method
Add a payment method and choose whether its payments are recorded in the cashbook.
Updated on August 26, 2026
A payment method defines the payment option users can select when recording a payment. You need access to the administration and an active Billnado licence.
Information
| Field or setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Name | The recognisable name shown in payment method selections, such as Bank transfer, Cash or Card. |
| Description | Additional formatted guidance about when or how the payment method is used. |
| Record transactions in cash book | Indicates that a payment using this method makes a final entry in the cashbook. This setting is initially off for a new method. |
Important: only enable Record transactions in cash book for methods that should actually pass through the cashbook. When such a method is selected, Billnado warns that the entry is final.
Create the payment method
Choose Create method once the information is complete. Billnado saves the method and opens its new record. It is then available when recording payments; creating it does not itself record a payment.
